OUTDOOR ROUNDS ARCHERY BADGES & CLASSIFICATIONS
252 Round
The 252 Round consists of shooting 3 dozen arrows at increasing distances.
You get 6 sighters, then 3 dozen arrows (the standard being 6 arrow ends, but can be 3 if required), using 5 zone scoring (9,7,5 etc.)
252 is the required score for Recurve however there are different scores required for Compound and other bow types.
When the required score or more is achieved a badge is awarded displaying the distance and the legend 252. The badges are available at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 80 and 100 yard distances.
Badges are provided free from the club however if you need a replacement badge there will be a cost of £3.

AGB Classification & Handicaps
Crieff Archery Club encourages all archers to try and achieve the outdoor classification awards which are part of the Archery GB Classification Scheme. These awards signify an archer’s current shooting standard.
For 2023, the AGB has updated its classification award scheme and handicap system and full details can be found on their website (a link to the outdoor classification pages has been placed on the members page for easy access!)
There are now 9 different classification levels available which are grouped into sets of three Tiers and are Archer, Bowman and Master Bowman - something for everyone to strive for!

Archery Tier - 12 dozen arrows at any event
Bowman Tier - 18 dozen arrows at any competitive event
Master Bowman Tier - 36 dozen arrows at any record status competition
The bowstyle, gender and age of the archer determines the specific scores applied. The scores across different rounds are calculated from handicap tables. In addition to the skill element, each award has a minimum distance required for each classification. This is a new scheme therefore the club does not yet have the badges in place, however these will be ordered as soon as they become available and the Club Records Officer will let you know when the club has them in stock and how you can achieve them!
The AGB handicap tables have also been completely revised and are based on a new system therefore any Archers using scoring apps on their mobile devices are reminded to ensure these apps have been updated.
